What’s up dog?
Nothing…what’s up with you?
We got a dog Sunday…another chocolate lab…We (my wife) named him Deuce…He’s as sweet and mellow as can be, not unlike our other dog, Bodhi.
Bodhi’s not enjoying the new addition to our pack.
Deuce was a rescue dog, taken off the mean streets of East St. Louis by the good people of Gateway Pet Guardians. We took him to the vet yesterday, he has heart worm, but is otherwise fairly healthy. He’s just a little over a year, give or take; he’s essentially still a puppy, though past his “so goddamned cute and precious you want to eat it up whole” stage of puppydom. (though I still think he’s pretty effing cute.)
My guess is someone bought him as a “so goddamned cute and precious you want to eat it up whole” puppy, and when he started growing and getting his puppy energy, was abandoned. For some reason, people like to do this from a moving car more often than naught, and for that, I hate our species.
We’re going to give Deuce the life he deserves–the life Bodhi has been enjoying for the past six years. The life every dog should have.
Thanks, Gateway for what you do for the puppies (of all ages), and for what you do for the people who ultimately take them in.
